TOMY Company reported record first-half earnings as the Japanese toy manufacturer capitalized on strong sales of its Beyblade spinning-top toys and Pokemon merchandise across Asia.

Net income jumped 51% to 8.45 billion yen ($56 million) in the six months through September, while revenue climbed 26% to 120.7 billion yen ($804 million). The Tokyo-based company’s operating profit rose 54% to 12.4 billion yen ($83 million).

The toy maker’s BEYBLADE X line, launched in July 2023, gained traction in Japan and other Asian markets before expanding to Europe and North America. The company also benefited from robust sales of Pokemon plush toys and gacha capsule products through its Takara Tomy Arts subsidiary.

The company’s retail arm, Kiddy Land, saw increased traffic at its flagship stores in Harajuku and Umeda, boosted by returning international tourists. In September, Takara Tomy opened its first overseas Tomica brand store in Shanghai, marking its growing presence in China.

Management raised its full-year forecast, projecting net income to increase 48% to 14.5 billion yen ($97 million) on sales of 240 billion yen ($1.6 billion) for the fiscal year ending March 2025.
