On May 28, Toho Co., Ltd. announced that its subsidiary, TOHO Studios, will acquire all outstanding shares of Dragonfly Entertainment on June 28, making it a subsidiary. The acquisition price remains undisclosed.

Dragonfly Entertainment, established in 2010, specializes in film and television production and casting. The company has a solid track record in producing live-action Japanese films such as “Murder at Shijinsou” and “Goban-giri.” Dragonfly is highly regarded for its production management capabilities and has been commissioned to produce numerous video works.

TOHO Studios’ decision to acquire Dragonfly aims to enhance its production capabilities and strengthen the group’s overall movie production capacity. This strategic move is expected to boost Toho’s corporate value by leveraging Dragonfly’s expertise and proven track record in the industry.

By integrating Dragonfly into its operations, TOHO Studios aims to enhance its production efficiency and expand its capabilities, reinforcing its position in the competitive film industry.
