Naver has garnered significant recognition as a pivotal player in the humanoid robotics industry, as detailed in a recent Morgan Stanley investment report on Tesla’s humanoid technology. The report, released on June 27, identified Naver as a “Humanoid Enabler,” distinguishing it both domestically and internationally in the field of humanoid technology.
Among the companies listed in Morgan Stanley’s “Humanoid 66,” which categorizes global firms as either Humanoid Enablers or Beneficiaries, Naver stood out in the humanoid technology sector. The list also featured notable companies such as LG Energy Solution, SK Innovation, Samsung SDI in the battery sector, and tech giants Nvidia, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, and SK Hynix in semiconductors.
A key highlight from the report is Naver Labs’ bimanual robot, AMBIDEX, which was first unveiled at CES 2019. Initially introduced in 2017 through a partnership between Naver Labs and KoreaTech, AMBIDEX is engineered to interact safely with humans in everyday environments, demonstrating Naver’s cutting-edge expertise in humanoid robotics.
Naver Labs, a research-focused subsidiary of Naver, is spearheading the development of AMBIDEX and conducting extensive research in areas such as cloud computing, augmented reality (AR), and autonomous driving. This multidisciplinary approach underscores Naver’s commitment to integrating advanced robotics into practical, everyday applications, further establishing its leadership in the global robotics arena.
