Hyosung Heavy Industries announced that it will sign contracts worth 350 billion won (approximately $263.81 million) during the CIGRE Paris Session 2024, the world’s largest power grid exhibition. The deals include a 330 billion won agreement with Norway’s state-owned power company for ultra-high voltage transformers and a 22 billion won contract with Iceland’s state-owned utility for gas-insulated switchgear (GIS), the largest single order for GIS in Europe.
At the exhibition, Hyosung will also showcase its latest power equipment, including energy storage systems (ESS) and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems. The company will emphasize its GIS technology, which reduces carbon emissions, alongside ESS solutions that boost renewable energy efficiency.
Hyosung Heavy Industries will also host its “Future Grid Insight Forum,” featuring discussions on AI-driven data centers, digital substations, and carbon neutrality. The event will highlight low-carbon innovations like SF6-Free GIS, developed by the company’s European R&D center, reflecting its commitment to sustainable power solutions.
