Far EasTone Telecommunications plans to drive growth in 2025 by expanding merger synergies, broadening its digital services portfolio, and deepening AI integration, according to General Manager Chee Ching.
The company aims to increase its 5G penetration rate to 50% while building on the success of its enterprise solutions division, which has already reached NT$10 billion (US$310 million) in revenue. Far EasTone has set an equivalent revenue target for its digital lifestyle services.
Ching noted that merger benefits will continue through IT and network integration while strengthening fixed-network infrastructure and IDC business growth. The company is focusing on “value” competition rather than price wars.
For digital services expansion, Far EasTone will upgrade its “FET Good Life” platform to become a one-stop digital service portal targeting mobile users across Taiwan, with plans to accelerate monetization.
The company has already integrated AI into its friDay video streaming and shopping services with personalized recommendations. Ching emphasized that generative AI is lowering technical barriers and enabling practical applications for everyday life.
Far EasTone has strengthened its core telecom business while accelerating its digital transformation. New economy services now contribute nearly 20% of total revenue, with enterprise solutions accounting for 57% of that segment and personal digital services making up 43%. Profitability from these new businesses increased 19% last year.
The company’s cloud subsidiary Boa Cloud saw a 34% increase in EBITDA last year and is now listed on the TPEx. Its cybersecurity unit is planning an IPO as early as next year after reporting 47% EBITDA growth.
