Takara Tomy Arts President Toshihisa Kondo announced that the company’s arcade game “Himitsu no aiPri” has become the best-selling title in the Pretty Series franchise, surpassing the previous record holder “PriPara.”
The announcement came during a presentation in Tokyo on February 27, where Kondo revealed plans for the second season of the franchise. Launched in April 2024, “Himitsu no aiPri” has expanded beyond arcade machines to include anime, toys, and various merchandise.
Kondo reflected on the project manager Nakayama’s initial vision for “Himitsu no aiPri” to become “an aspirational presence for children.” After one year on the market, Kondo expressed confidence that the franchise has achieved this goal.
Looking ahead, Kondo stated the company would continue building the brand’s appeal among young consumers, with ambitions to announce a third anime season by early 2026.
Parent company Takara Tomy had previously noted in its third-quarter earnings report that both “Himitsu no aiPri” and “Pokemon Frenda,” launched in April and July respectively, had outperformed their predecessors in the amusement machine segment.
The franchise has demonstrated its growing popularity by attracting more than 20,000 fans to various events held throughout Japan since its debut, positioning it as a significant contributor to Takara Tomy’s entertainment portfolio.
