SM Entertainment Co., Ltd. has unveiled its groundbreaking “2024 SM NEW GIRL GROUP AUDITION (SMNGG),” marking the company’s first global search for new girl group members. This initiative underscores SM Entertainment’s commitment to discovering and nurturing fresh talent on an international scale.
Online registration for SMNGG opened on June 1 and will remain available until June 22. The audition is open to female-identified applicants (she/they) born between 2005 and 2011, from any part of the world.
In the first round, applicants must submit a self-introduction along with vocal and dance videos. For these performance videos, candidates are required to choose from a list of designated songs provided by SM Entertainment.
Successful applicants from the initial round will be invited to participate in in-person auditions for the second round. Specific dates and locations for these auditions will be communicated individually to the selected candidates.
Finalists emerging from this rigorous selection process will be given the coveted opportunity to debut as members of SM Entertainment’s new girl group, joining the ranks of globally recognized acts nurtured by the company.
This global audition is a significant step for SM Entertainment as it expands its search for diverse and exceptional talent, aiming to shape the next generation of K-pop stars.
