SK Hynix Inc. announced the development of its PEB110 E1.S SSD, a high-performance solid-state drive aimed at addressing growing demand from data centers driven by the rise of AI. The new product, designed with fifth-generation PCIe (PCIe Gen5) technology, offers twice the bandwidth of its predecessor and improves power efficiency by over 30%.
The PEB110 is part of SK Hynix’s strategy to expand its SSD portfolio, complementing its existing PS1010 model, and is set to begin mass production by the second quarter of 2025 after the current qualification process with a global data center customer.
To meet increasing security demands, the PEB110 incorporates SPDM technology, which bolsters server authentication and protection—critical as cyberattacks on data centers continue to rise. Available in 2TB, 4TB, and 8TB versions, the SSD is compatible with Open Compute Project standards, ensuring broad adoption in global data centers.
SK Hynix aims to leverage this new product to reinforce its position as a leading AI memory provider, with a focus on SSDs for the rapidly expanding data center market.
