Samsung Foundry has clinched a pivotal contract to manufacture Google’s upcoming Tensor G4 processor. The next-generation Pixel phones—Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel Fold 3—will feature this advanced chipset, boasting the third-generation 4nm process (SF4P). This marks a significant leap forward from the previous Tensor G3 iteration.
Samsung’s expertise in semiconductor chip production underscores its influential role in the sector. The company’s recent endeavors include the confirmation of 3nm server chip production for AD Technology, and speculations of being selected by Qualcomm for some Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip manufacturing. Samsung’s utilization of GAA transistor design technology suggests it may be leading in the 3nm process series ahead of competitors like TSMC.
