Nintendo has begun shipping approximately 383,000 Switch 2 consoles to the United States in preparation for its upcoming launch, according to media reports. While the company has yet to announce an official release date, the substantial shipment signals that the launch may be imminent.
Industry analysts project that the Switch 2 could sell up to 8 million units globally within three months of its release—double the sales volume of its predecessor during the same timeframe. This anticipated surge is expected to boost performance for key suppliers including Foxconn Technology, Macronix International, Weltrend Semiconductor, and JiuZhang Technology.
Nintendo plans to unveil the Switch 2 at a presentation on April 2, followed by demo events worldwide. Shipping documents and instruction manuals for the new console have already been tracked, with January shipments alone reaching 383,000 units. February and March shipments are expected to increase further, potentially pushing U.S. inventory beyond one million units.
The company appears determined to avoid the supply shortages that plagued the original Switch launch in 2017, which led to scalping and consumer frustration.
Foxconn is positioned as the primary beneficiary in the supply chain, having secured exclusive assembly and casing orders for the Switch 2, while Macronix and Weltrend will supply game card memory and power ICs respectively.
