Nexon Co.’s ARC Raiders has emerged as the Japanese gaming giant’s fastest-selling release, with the third-person extraction shooter reaching four million units sold within 12 days of its October 30 launch.
The title, developed by Nexon’s Stockholm-based subsidiary Embark Studios, achieved a peak of 700,000 concurrent players across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC platforms. Steam alone has maintained daily active user counts above 300,000, according to industry data.
The performance secured ARC Raiders a nomination for Best Multiplayer at The Game Awards ceremony scheduled for December 12 in Los Angeles, though the title was notably absent from the Game of the Year category—a decision that sparked debate among players and some industry figures who pointed to its commercial success and user engagement metrics.
Priced at $40, the sci-fi shooter’s rapid sales represent approximately $160 million in gross revenue before platform fees. Nexon CEO Lee Junghun called it an “extraordinary achievement for an all-new IP” and said the company plans content updates extending through 2026.
The success comes as Nexon navigates a transitional period, with third-quarter operating income down 27% year-over-year. A partnership with Tencent Holdings Ltd. will bring ARC Raiders to China, potentially extending the franchise’s reach further.
