Capcom reported record financial results for fiscal year 2025, with sales reaching ¥169.6 billion ($1.1 billion) and operating profit climbing to ¥65.8 billion ($427 million), marking its eighth consecutive year of record performance.
The gaming powerhouse’s remarkable growth was primarily driven by February’s release of “Monster Hunter Wilds,” which sold over 10 million copies in its first month—the fastest-selling title in Capcom’s 45-year history. The game’s success helped the Monster Hunter franchise surpass 100 million total units sold worldwide, cementing its position as the company’s cornerstone IP alongside Resident Evil.
Digital content remained Capcom’s dominant segment with ¥125.1 billion in sales, though other divisions showed impressive gains. The amusement equipment business saw a 73% revenue surge to ¥15.6 billion as pachislot machines featuring popular Capcom characters performed exceptionally well. Meanwhile, the esports division gained momentum with the “CAPCOM Pro Tour 2024” series attracting over 10 million online viewers.
Looking ahead, Capcom projects another year of double-digit growth with plans to release “Capcom Fighting Collection 2” and “Onimusha 2” in May, followed by Nintendo Switch 2 versions of “Street Fighter 6” and “Kuni: Path of the Goddess” in June. Management expects these releases, combined with continued strong performance of “Monster Hunter Wilds,” to drive sales to ¥190 billion in fiscal 2026.
