MediaTek (2454), a leading IC design company, reported consolidated revenue of NT$42.151 billion for May, marking a 0.29% increase from April and an impressive 33.53% rise year-on-year. The company’s cumulative revenue from January to May reached NT$217.637 billion, reflecting a 39.9% annual growth.

As MediaTek’s Q2 mobile phone shipments normalized, the company anticipates second-quarter revenue to remain stable or decrease by up to 9% compared to the first quarter. Despite this, MediaTek aims for a revenue growth target of 14-16% in USD terms for 2024. Notably, the company projects over 50% year-on-year growth for its flagship mobile phone chips.

In the second quarter, MediaTek plans to launch more smartphones equipped with its Dimensity 9300 and 8300 series chips. Additionally, the next-generation flagship chip, Dimensity 9400, has garnered positive feedback from customers and is slated for release in the second half of the year. MediaTek expects year-on-year revenue growth across all product categories, with mobile phones leading the charge.
