MAGES., a subsidiary of COLOPL, Inc., a multifaceted entertainment company known for its involvement in games, music, and video production, has announced the sale of its content-related business to AniTone, a subsidiary of SUPER STATE HOLDINGS. The transaction, set to take effect on November 1, 2024, will see MAGES. offload its music label, LOVE&ART, music publishing operations, and Daikanyama STUDIO.

This move is part of MAGES.’s strategy to refocus on its core gaming business, as its other ventures—particularly in music and program production—offer limited synergy with the company’s current parent, COLOPL. The shift underscores COLOPL’s desire to streamline operations and concentrate on its primary areas of expertise in the gaming industry.

AniTone, established in July 2024, aims to make a significant impact in the entertainment sector through animation production, music labeling, and publishing. The acquisition of MAGES.’s content-related assets marks its first step in expanding its influence. SUPER STATE HOLDINGS, AniTone’s parent, plans to leverage mergers and acquisitions as a growth strategy, positioning AniTone to become a key player in the broader entertainment market.
