Krafton Inc. has posted record-breaking financial results for the first half of 2024, with cumulative sales reaching 1.3729 trillion KRW (US$1.04 billion) and operating profit hitting 642.6 billion KRW (US$487.5 million). These figures represent year-on-year increases of 48.3% and 55.0%, respectively. The company attributes this growth to the strong performance of its flagship game, PUBG: Battlegrounds, and the ongoing development of new titles.
In the second quarter alone, Krafton recorded sales of 707 billion KRW (US$534 million) and an operating profit of 332.1 billion KRW (US$252 million), reflecting an 82.7% and 152.6% increase, respectively, compared to the previous year.
The company continues to expand its presence across platforms with promising upcoming releases like Dark and Darker Mobile and inZOI. In addition, Krafton has invested in several game studios and acquired a Japanese development team, underscoring its commitment to discovering new intellectual properties and diversifying its portfolio.
As the company looks to the future, it plans to leverage AI technology and expand its publishing operations in key markets like India, further solidifying its position as a major player in the global gaming industry.
