Konami Group posted record quarterly profits as the Japanese gaming giant capitalized on strong digital entertainment sales, led by the successful remake of its psychological horror game Silent Hill 2.
The Tokyo-based company reported a 41.8% jump in net income to 63.1 billion yen ($424 million) for the nine months ended December. Revenue rose 22.8% to 310.8 billion yen ($2.1 billion), driven by robust performance across its gaming portfolio.
Silent Hill 2, which shipped over 2 million copies globally, spearheaded Konami’s digital entertainment division that saw profits surge 44.6% to 80.8 billion yen ($543 million). The company’s mobile soccer game eFootball surpassed 800 million downloads worldwide.
Konami maintained its full-year profit forecast of 70 billion yen ($470 million) on sales of 412 billion yen ($2.77 billion), suggesting confidence in sustained momentum. The gaming segment now accounts for nearly 74% of total revenue, highlighting the company’s successful pivot toward digital entertainment.
The amusement division, which includes arcade games and pachinko machines, posted a 16.2% profit increase despite more modest revenue growth of 3.6%.
