Konami Group projects another year of record financial performance for fiscal 2026, forecasting revenue of ¥430 billion ($2.97 billion) and operating profit of ¥106 billion ($731 million), representing increases of 2.0% and 4.0% respectively from the prior year.
The Japanese entertainment conglomerate’s optimistic outlook relies heavily on its digital entertainment division, which generated the bulk of profits during a streak of record-breaking quarters. The company has consistently beaten financial expectations, with recent quarters showing significant year-over-year growth in both revenue and profits.
Mobile gaming remains central to Konami’s strategy, with plans to expand eFootball and launch several new titles. The company will release “Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater” in August 2025, marking the franchise’s return after losing creative director Hideo Kojima years ago.
Digital entertainment is projected to generate ¥310 billion ($2.14 billion) in revenue and ¥103 billion ($710 million) in operating profit. The amusement segment, including pachinko machines, expects ¥31 billion ($214 million) in sales with ¥8 billion ($55 million) profit.
Despite common misconceptions, Konami’s amusement business represents only a small fraction of total revenue compared to its gaming operations.
The modest 2% revenue growth target suggests the company may be approaching maturity in its core markets, even as mobile gaming and esports initiatives continue expanding globally.
