Konami Group posted record-breaking profits for its fiscal second quarter, riding high on the success of its digital entertainment division. The Tokyo-based gaming giant reported that business profit soared to 50.2 billion yen ($334 million), marking a 41.8% increase from the previous year.
The company’s strong performance was largely driven by its eFootball franchise, which saw significant user engagement following a major update. Overall sales climbed 19.7% to 184.1 billion yen ($1.23 billion), while net profit jumped 35.7% to 36.4 billion yen ($242 million).
Looking ahead, Konami unveiled an ambitious release schedule featuring several high-profile titles. The company plans to launch a remake of the horror classic Silent Hill 2 in October, followed by the 20th-anniversary edition of its Professional Baseball Spirits series. The gaming publisher is also reviving other fan-favorite franchises, with Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater and multiple Silent Hill projects in development.
However, release dates for several anticipated titles, including Metal Gear Solid Δ and new Silent Hill installments, remain unconfirmed, potentially signaling development challenges or strategic timing decisions.
