Kao Corporation, the Japanese consumer goods maker, has inked a deal with Thailand’s Charoen Pokphand Group to develop and distribute sustainable products. The partnership, announced on September 30, marks Kao’s 60th year in Thailand and aligns with its global strategy to expand through co-creation.
The agreement focuses on creating environmentally friendly consumer goods for C.P. Group’s extensive retail network, including 7-Eleven stores and supermarkets. Kao plans to leverage its innovations to develop a new house brand for C.P., emphasizing sustainability.
While the collaboration promises exclusive supply of certain eco-friendly Kao products to C.P. Group, it also explores opportunities in the chemical sector. The companies aim to address social issues by combining their expertise across various industries.
Kao, known for brands like Attack and Bioré, has been operating in Thailand since 1964. The company recently launched a plant-based mosquito repellent in the country, showcasing its commitment to solving regional health challenges.
This partnership could significantly boost Kao’s presence in Southeast Asia’s competitive consumer goods market, while helping C.P. Group enhance its sustainable product offerings.
