Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn) is positioning itself as the primary manufacturer for Nvidia Corp.’s next-generation GB300 artificial intelligence servers, set to be unveiled at the GTC conference in March 2025.
The Taiwan-based electronics giant, also known as Foxconn, will leverage its vertical integration capabilities to maintain its position as Nvidia’s largest supplier. Industry sources say Hon Hai will begin shipping the new servers in the first half of 2025, ahead of competitors Quanta Computer Inc. and Inventec Corp.
The new GB300 platform may exclusively use liquid cooling systems, eliminating traditional fans. Hon Hai Chairman Young Liu said the company can supply between 80% to 90% of components for current GB200 servers, excluding only the CPU and GPU.
The manufacturing partnership between Hon Hai and Nvidia dates back to 2017, with the companies collaborating on multiple generations of AI servers. Hon Hai has invested heavily in early-stage research and development for these projects.
While concerns emerged about potential production delays due to reported overheating issues at component supplier AOSL, industry experts say such challenges are typical during new product development and shouldn’t significantly impact the launch timeline.
Neither Hon Hai nor Nvidia commented on the specifics of their next-generation product plans.
