EVA Air is expanding its Hello Kitty-themed flight service to southern Taiwan, launching a dedicated route between Kaohsiung and Hong Kong that will operate through February 28.

The Taiwanese carrier deployed its Airbus A321-200 aircraft, featuring pink-themed Hello Kitty livery, for the route’s inaugural flight on January 22. The plane accommodates 184 passengers, with eight business class and 176 economy seats.

The route marks the first time EVA’s Hello Kitty service has been available from Kaohsiung, offering southern Taiwan residents direct access to these themed flights without traveling to Taoyuan International Airport near Taipei. The carrier operates two daily flights on the route, with a flight time of approximately 100 minutes.

The themed service includes Sanrio-branded cabin experiences and special edition merchandise. Passengers on the inaugural flight received Hello Kitty-themed red envelopes and postcards as part of Lunar New Year celebrations.

The introduction of the service comes as Hong Kong continues to rebuild its tourism sector. EVA Air’s timing aligns with Taiwan’s winter school break and the upcoming Lunar New Year holiday period, traditionally a peak travel season for the region.
