Eutelsat Group has signed a multi-launch agreement with Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI), marking the first collaboration between the two companies. Starting in 2027, MHI will deploy Eutelsat’s satellites using its H3 launch vehicle, which is designed to meet a wide range of mission requirements.

The agreement expands Eutelsat’s launch options, offering increased reliability as the company works to maintain its fleet. MHI has a strong history of launch success, with a 98% success rate and over 50 consecutive successful launches using its H-IIA and H-IIB rockets. The H3 launch vehicle builds on this track record, having completed its third successful mission in July 2024.

Eutelsat’s decision to partner with MHI follows its merger with OneWeb in 2023, creating the world’s first fully integrated GEO-LEO satellite operator. This deal strengthens Eutelsat’s ability to maintain global connectivity services across multiple sectors, including video distribution, mobile and fixed connectivity, and government services.
