Taiwan Delta Electronics posted record quarterly revenue and profit as artificial intelligence server demand drove sales of its power management and cooling systems.
The company reported second-quarter revenue of NT$124.04 billion ($3.77 billion), climbing 19.91% from a year earlier and marking a quarterly high. Net income reached NT$13.95 billion ($424 million), with earnings per share hitting NT$5.37, also a record for any three-month period.
Delta has positioned itself as a key supplier to AI data centers, providing power systems with efficiency up to 97.5% and cooling solutions for high-performance computing applications. The company’s thermal management products have become increasingly critical as AI chips generate substantial heat requiring sophisticated cooling systems.
For the first half of 2024, the Taipei-based manufacturer accumulated revenue of NT$242.95 billion ($7.38 billion), representing a 24.76% jump from the prior year. Six-month net income totaled NT$24.18 billion ($735 million), with earnings per share reaching NT$9.31.
The company previously indicated that AI-related power supplies and components have been driving growth, alongside automotive electronics and infrastructure businesses. Delta supplies power management solutions to major technology companies investing heavily in AI infrastructure.
Shares surged to an all-time high of NT$533 during Tuesday trading before settling at NT$530, reflecting investor confidence in the company’s position within the AI supply chain. Delta has been showcasing advanced power delivery systems specifically designed for AI accelerators and next-generation data centers at industry conferences throughout 2024.
The results underscore how Taiwan’s technology suppliers are benefiting from the global rush to build AI computing infrastructure, though questions remain about sustainability of this demand cycle.
