Delta Electronics has unveiled its new D-Bot collaborative robots (cobots) in India, marking the company’s first foray into the Indian robotics market as it seeks to bolster its position in smart manufacturing and energy infrastructure.
Showcased at ELECRAMA 2025, the D-Bot series features six-axis freedom with rotation speeds of up to 200 degrees per second. The cobots, available with payloads ranging from 6kg to 30kg, are designed for precision applications including packaging, pick-and-place operations, electronics assembly, material handling, welding, and machine tending.
Delta’s Vice President of Global Operations Simon Yin indicated that India represents a key market for the company, which is committed to advancing industrial and energy transformation through cutting-edge solutions. The strategic investment in the Krishnagiri plant demonstrates Delta’s dedication to local innovation and sustainable manufacturing.
The company has been strategically diversifying its global manufacturing footprint amid geopolitical supply chain concerns. Chairman Ping Cheng previously noted that overseas production capacity, particularly in Thailand and India, is set for significant growth, with plans to expand in the United States and Eastern Europe as well. China currently accounts for approximately 60% of Delta’s production capacity, with long-term targets aiming to maintain this at 50-60%.
Delta recently invested €10 million (NT$339 million or US$10.7 million) for a special stake in German robotics startup Neura Robotics GmbH, whose technology portfolio includes collaborative robots, autonomous mobile robots, and humanoid robots.
