Japanese internet conglomerate CyberAgent reported an 11.5% jump in annual revenue to 803 billion yen ($5.3 billion) for fiscal 2024, buoyed by strong performance in its gaming and advertising divisions.
Operating profit surged 70.4% to 41.8 billion yen as the company’s streaming platform ABEMA significantly narrowed its losses. The service, which reaches 30 million weekly active users, reduced its operating loss to 1.9 billion yen from 11.5 billion yen a year earlier.
The gaming unit saw operating profit climb 34.6% to 30.6 billion yen, helped by new titles including Granblue Fantasy: Relink and Jujutsu Kaisen Phantom Parade. The division plans to launch several games in 2025, including an English version of its hit title Uma Musume: Pretty Derby.
The internet advertising business posted a 21.3% rise in operating profit to 22.2 billion yen, with executives crediting AI investments for improved operational efficiency.
Looking ahead, CyberAgent forecasts more modest growth for fiscal 2025, with revenue expected to rise 2.1% to 820 billion yen. The company also plans to expand its intellectual property portfolio through original anime productions and game development.
