Capcom Co. lifted its full-year profit forecast after Monster Hunter Wilds drove the Japanese game developer to its highest-ever quarterly earnings.
The Osaka-based company now expects ¥169.6 billion ($1.13 billion) in sales for the fiscal year ending March 2025, up from a previous forecast of ¥165 billion. Net income is projected to reach ¥48.4 billion, a 5.2% increase from earlier estimates.
The gaming giant reported fourth-quarter sales surged 75.8% to ¥80.7 billion, while operating profit soared nearly 270% to ¥34.7 billion, both quarterly records for the company.
Monster Hunter Wilds, released February 28, has been Capcom’s fastest-selling title ever, moving 10 million units by the end of March. The game features crossplay functionality allowing players on different platforms to play together, which Capcom credits as contributing to its strong performance.
The company’s amusement facility and equipment businesses also performed well, helping push all profit metrics to record highs. Capcom expects the upcoming content updates for Monster Hunter Wilds, with the first scheduled for early April, to maintain sales momentum through the new fiscal year.
