Taipei-based technology firm AAEON (Stock Code: 6579) has launched its latest innovation in high-end edge computing: the HPC-RPSC module for COM-HPC boards. This marks a significant advancement in high-performance computing tailored to demanding applications.
Measuring at 160mm x 120mm, the HPC-RPSC module boasts support for up to 65W CPUs from the 13th generation Intel Core™ processor series, delivering a powerful punch with up to 24 cores and 32 threads via the Intel® R680E chipset.
The module offers flexible and expandable system memory and storage capabilities with two DDR5 SODIMM slots and an M.2 2280 M-Key slot for NVMe. It also features three PCIe 4.0 four-channel and eight PCIe 3.0 single-channel interfaces, catering to larger storage requirements and making it highly suitable for edge server applications.
Furthermore, the HPC-RPSC is equipped with an Intel I226-LM Ethernet port, supporting up to two 2.5G ultra-fast Ethernet networks. Additional Ethernet ports can be expanded through PCIe slots to accommodate a range of network connections, such as smart parking management systems and intelligent roadside parking devices. The module also offers rich expansion interfaces, including four USB3.2 Gen.2 Type-C ports, providing faster transmission speeds of up to 20Gbps. These ports can alternatively be divided into eight USB3.2 Type-A ports and eight USB 2.0 ports. Additionally, it features a 12-bit GPIO and two UARTs.
Hong Jiarui, Product Manager of AAEON’s Embedded Products Division, highlighted the key features of the HPC-RPSC boards, emphasizing their support for powerful processors and inclusion of Intel ® UHD Graphics 770 graphics cards. These boards can also accommodate advanced graphics cards through the 16-channel PEG Gen5 slot. Jiarui underscored that these products are compatible with common operating systems in the market, including Windows and Linux.
The HPC-RPSC is now in mass production, offering a powerful solution for IC test equipment, edge AI servers, and roadside systems.
