The Nissei Business provides gearmotors, high stiffness reducers, and gears. The Personal and Home Business offers home sewing and cutting machines. It is involved in manufacture and sells printers, multifunction devices, label writers, label printers, and scanners; industrial printing equipment; machine tools and industrial sewing machines; speed reducers and gears, and real estate leasing; and household sewing machines; as well as leases real estate. The company was formerly known as Nippon Sewing Machine Manufacturing Co. and changed its name to Brother Industries, Ltd. in 1962. Brother Industries, Ltd. was founded in 1908 and is headquartered in Nagoya, Japan.
