Denka Company Limited manufactures and sells organic and inorganic materials to electronic materials and pharmaceuticals in Japan and internationally. It operates through Electronic and Innovative Products; Life Innovation; Elastomers & Infrastructure; Polymer Solutions; and Other Business segments. The Electronic and Innovative Products segment manufactures and sells fused silica, spherical alumina, electronic circuit boards, fine ceramics, electronic packaging materials, acetylene, adhesive, adhesive and electrical tapes, and semiconductor processing materials. The Life Innovation segment develops influenza vaccines, test reagents, such as rapid testing kits for COVID-19, and cancer treatment virus preparations. The Elastomers & Infrastructure segment produces functional elastomers, such as chloroprene rubber; special cement additives; agri-products, including calcium cyanamide (nitrogen-based fertilizer) and YORIN (phosphate fertilizers), calcium carbide; and polyethelene corrugated pipes. The Polymer Solutions segment consists of styrene-based functional resins, such as transparent resins, heat-resistant resins, and resins for shrink labels, food packaging sheets, and synthetic fibers for wigs, as well as poval and other chemical products. The Other Business segment designs and constructs industrial facilities, as well as trading and consultation business. The company was formerly known as Denki Kagaku Kogyo Kabushiki Kaisha and changed its name to Denka Company Limited in October 2015. Denka Company Limited was incorporated in 1915 and is headquartered in Tokyo, Japan.
