CJ Logistics Corp. announced a collaboration with TikTok Shop designed to accelerate Korean brands’ entry into Southeast Asian and Japanese markets, targeting the social commerce platform’s expanding merchant base.
The Seoul-based logistics giant unveiled its “K-Seller Cross Border E-Commerce One-Stop Package” during a June 17 seminar attended by 170 domestic brand representatives. The service leverages over 60 logistics bases across six countries including Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand to reduce shipping times by an average of 5-6 days compared to direct shipment from Korea.
TikTok Shop’s registered merchant count grew approximately 60% from 700,000 in 2023 to 1.1 million last year, creating opportunities for cross-border sellers. The platform generated $349 million in revenue in December 2023 alone, while beauty and personal care products dominated with $2.49 billion in gross merchandise value, representing over 22% of total sales.
The partnership includes TikTok Shop, advertising specialist witU, and financial solutions provider Payoneer, offering services from platform entry to payment processing. TikTok Shop’s Southeast Asian markets generate average daily sales of about $40 million in the region’s best-performing countries.
CJ Logistics, part of the CJ Group conglomerate, operates across 22 countries and has been expanding its international logistics network to capture growth in social commerce. The company’s stock trades on the Korea Exchange.
