Wistron Posts Record Revenue as AI Server Business Soars

Fourth-quarter laptop shipments exceed expectations while profit hits second-highest level

Wistron Corp. reported strong financial results for the fourth quarter, driven by increased PC demand and robust growth in its artificial intelligence server business. The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer posted NT$297.2 billion ($9.4 billion) in quarterly revenue, marking a new record.

The company’s net income reached NT$5.3 billion in the fourth quarter, making it the second-best quarter since 2021. Laptop shipments climbed to 5.3 million units, while desktop computers and monitors reached 2.4 million units each.

For the full year 2023, Wistron’s net profit jumped 52% to NT$17.4 billion, with earnings per share of NT$6.11. The company achieved record-high gross margin of 8.02% and operating margin of 3.72%.

The AI server segment emerged as the primary growth driver, showing quarter-over-quarter improvements throughout the year and achieving triple-digit growth. Looking ahead, Wistron executives expect another year of triple-digit growth in AI server sales for 2025, citing clear visibility of customer demand.

Chairman Simon Lin and CEO Jeff Lin are scheduled to provide detailed business outlook at the company’s year-end event on January 17, where industry observers expect updates on AI server market dynamics.
