Winbond Electronics Corp. rolled out a new automotive-grade flash memory series, stepping up its presence in the connected and autonomous vehicle market. The TrustME W77T product line offers storage capacities ranging from 256 megabits to 1 gigabit, with smaller versions planned for future release.
The Taiwan-based chipmaker engineered the series with remote authentication technology based on LMS-OTS, aiming to prevent content tampering during platform assembly and configuration. This security feature comes as automotive manufacturers increasingly shift toward software-defined vehicle architectures.
The memory chips deliver read bandwidth of 400 megabytes per second, targeting the rapid boot and processing requirements of automotive system-on-chips. Production takes place at Winbond’s certified manufacturing facilities to maintain supply chain integrity.
The company has started sampling the new series to customers, positioning itself to capture growing demand in the automotive semiconductor market as vehicles become more electronically sophisticated. The memory products are designed to meet automotive reliability standards while providing enhanced security features for connected car applications.
