Synnex Technology International has unveiled its new global operations headquarters in Taipei, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion strategy. The Taiwan-based IT distributor has invested over NT$20 billion ($630 million) in building 26 operations centers and nine office buildings across the Asia-Pacific region over the past 36 years.
The new headquarters, located in front of Taipei’s Nangang High Speed Rail Station, is part of a NT$1 million ($31,500) per square meter development project. Synnex partnered with Nanrong Development to construct the building, overcoming challenges such as supply chain disruptions and rising costs during the three-year pandemic.
Synnex Group President Du Shuwu emphasized the building’s seven design principles, including resilience, intelligence, and energy efficiency. The structure features advanced technologies like a double-layer curtain glass system with sun-tracking blinds, one of only three such installations in Taiwan.
The company’s move aligns with Taipei City’s “Eastern District Gateway Project,” which aims to transform the area into a major transportation and business hub. The project includes plans for a 4.2-kilometer sky corridor and a large bus transfer station.
