South Korean mobile gaming giant Netmarble Corp. has attracted 50 million users worldwide to its action role-playing game “Solo Leveling: Arise” since its May launch, highlighting the growing appeal of Korean gaming content in the global market.

The game, based on a popular Korean web novel, has maintained steady user growth despite fierce competition in the mobile gaming sector. Market analysts note that while the user count is impressive, the key metric will be the game’s ability to convert players into paying customers in the competitive Asian gaming market.

To boost player engagement, Netmarble is running a promotional campaign through October 31, offering users up to 10,000 magic stones, the game’s virtual currency. The company recently added new features, including the “Demon King Baran” dungeon, to keep players invested.

The gaming sector in South Korea has faced heightened regulatory scrutiny over monetization practices and concerns about addictive gameplay mechanics. Netmarble’s focus on user acquisition comes as Korean game developers navigate these challenges while expanding their global footprint.

The company’s shares trade on the Korea Exchange, where investors are closely watching whether this user milestone will translate into sustainable revenue growth.
