South Korea’s Naver Pay has launched an overseas QR payment service in partnership with Hana Bank’s subsidiary, GLN International. The service allows Naver Pay users to make payments using their Naver Pay Money and Points at merchants affiliated with GLN in eight Asia-Pacific regions, including Thailand, Taiwan, Singapore, and Guam. The service will expand to Japan later this month, offering access to approximately 1 million locations.
By selecting GLN within the Naver Pay app, users can easily make payments at around 4 million locations in Thailand and other regions. The app supports both customer-presented and merchant-presented QR code options, with automatic currency conversion for seamless transactions. A linked account ensures automatic recharging if balances run low.
To promote the service, Naver Pay is running a promotional event in Thailand until December 31, offering users the chance to earn Naver Pay points by posting videos of their transactions.
