Largan Precision, a leading lens manufacturer, reported record-breaking revenue of NT$7.018 billion (approximately US$220 million) for August, marking a 54.25% year-on-year increase. The surge in revenue is attributed to early shipments linked to the upcoming iPhone launch, with momentum higher than usual for this time of year.
Despite the strong performance, Largan indicated that September’s revenue is expected to decline compared to August, breaking from the typical month-to-month growth seen during peak season. The company has already amassed NT$34.742 billion in revenue for the first eight months of 2023, reflecting a 36.85% increase over the same period last year.
In August, products with 10 million pixels accounted for the majority of Largan’s shipments, at 60% to 70%. Higher-resolution lenses, with 20 million pixels or more, contributed 10% to 20% of shipments, while products with 8 million pixels made up less than 10%. This varied product mix continues to drive the company’s strong market performance.
