The Kia EV9, a pure electric large-scale SUV imported by Kia’s general agent Sime Darby Kia Motors, made its grand debut at the National Opera House in Taichung, Taiwan. The vehicle is introduced in two specifications, with the EV9 Earth RWD priced at 2.799 million yuan and the GT-line e-AWD at 2.999 million yuan for pre-sale, limited to 500 units in the first year.

Li Changyi, President of Sime Darby Kia Taiwan, emphasized Kia’s commitment to providing Taiwanese consumers with a new mobility experience inspired by the brand’s spirit of “Movement that inspires.” Kia has witnessed remarkable growth in Taiwan, registering over 9,200 vehicles from January to November this year, marking a 114% increase over the same period last year and establishing itself as the fastest-growing imported car brand in the country.

The EV6, Kia’s inaugural pure electric vehicle, has played a pivotal role in this growth, with over 1,400 units sold since its launch, securing the top position in sales among non-luxury imported electric vehicles.

The Kia EV9 GT-line model, themed “Courage to Create the Future,” boasts distinctive features, including the world’s first digital grating, glossy black paint, exclusive GT-line bumper design, and the signature Star Map tailgate body with a hidden rear wiper, creating a bold and racing-inspired design unique to the EV9.

Inside, the Kia EV9 features an integrated central display screen and an electronic digital rearview mirror package, comprising 9.6-inch interior and 7-inch exterior (OLED) electronic digital rearview mirrors. The vehicle is equipped with a fingerprint recognition system, automatically restoring the owner’s last settings for car seats, air conditioning, language, and more. Standard features across all models include driver’s seat memory massage seats and dual front ventilated and heated seats.

Built on the E-GMP electric global modular platform, the EV9 incorporates 800V ultra-high-speed fast charging technology, enabling a rapid charge from 10% to 80% in just 24 minutes. The kinetic energy regenerative braking system paddle allows for varying degrees of charging power recovery.

To seize opportunities in the growing electric vehicle market, Sime Darby Kia Taiwan has introduced a pre-order bonus plan, offering exclusive benefits such as off-car electrical power sharing, home charging equipment, free unlimited fast charging for one year, and a Samsung Freestyle mini smart projector with an original portable projection screen, valued at over 150,000 yuan, for customers who place a pre-order deposit of NT$3,000 online during the pre-sale period.
