Fuji Television Network and Fuji Media Holdings have launched a new joint venture, Fuji Consumer Products, Inc., as of October 1, 2024, to expand their licensing business. The company, with an initial capital of ¥50 million (approximately $334,000), will focus on the development and marketing of intellectual property (IP) related to popular characters such as Gachapin and Mukku, as well as Chuggington.
The new company aims to enhance Fuji Television’s licensing operations, which were previously handled by the network’s internal Licensing Business Department. By establishing a specialized entity, Fuji Television seeks to streamline operations and leverage its expertise in character-driven content to tap into a growing market. Fuji Consumer Products will focus on collaboration with manufacturers and distributors to build a more structured and profitable business model, while also expanding its portfolio of licensed IP in the future.
