Clevo, a prominent PC supplier, is projecting a robust recovery and significant growth in the PC market for 2024, driven by increasing consumer demand for AI-enhanced models. The company forecasts that the destocking phase for consumer notebooks has concluded and anticipates a revival in commercial demand, setting the stage for a steady market rebound.
With an expected distribution of sales heavily weighted towards the latter half of the year (60% in H2 versus 40% in H1), Clevo predicts that notebook shipments will reach between 850,000 to 900,000 units in the first two quarters alone. The total shipments for the year are estimated to hit 1.9 million units, positioning the company for a potential double-digit percentage increase in profits year-on-year.
The firm also highlighted the global enthusiasm for AI PCs, which is likely to intensify in the coming months. Clevo is keenly observing the growth trajectory, especially with the upcoming introduction of Nvidia’s new e-sports products next year, which are expected to further invigorate the laptop industry.
Regionally, Clevo noted varying recovery speeds, with significant growth expected in Asian markets such as Thailand, Indonesia, and India, contrary to slower recoveries in Europe due to high interest rates and inflationary pressures. The U.S. market remains a smaller portion of their business, contributing only 3% to 5% of laptop sales, hence the upcoming presidential election is viewed with cautious interest.
Despite global economic challenges, Clevo remains committed to capturing the substantial laptop market potential among China’s 21 million annual college graduates, aiming to seize market shares vacated by competitors like Dell and HP. This strategic focus underscores Blue Sky’s optimistic outlook and readiness to capitalize on emerging business opportunities within the evolving PC landscape.
