CJ Logistics is accelerating its expansion into the North American cold chain logistics market by establishing a substantial cold chain logistics center in the United States. The company announced on May 19th that the new facility, specialized in refrigerated and frozen products, will be located in the New Century area and will span 8,178 pyeong (27,035 square meters), equivalent to four soccer fields. The center is scheduled to begin operations in the third quarter of 2025.
Strategically situated 6 kilometers from the nearest highway and within 20 kilometers of the BNSF transcontinental line, the center is designed to facilitate efficient long-distance transportation by rail. Once operational, it will enable delivery to 85% of the United States within two days.
The logistics center plans to handle products for the global food company Upfield. To ensure seamless logistics, the Upfield production plant in New Century will be connected to the center by a conveyor system, enhancing product freshness and logistical efficiency.
CJ Logistics is also developing a cold chain logistics center in Gainesville, Georgia, covering approximately 25,000 square meters, which is expected to be fully operational this year. In March, the company participated in MODEX 2024, a major global logistics industry exhibition held in the U.S., where it showcased its advanced cold chain logistics services.
