Capcom has announced ambitious plans to increase video game sales by 8.9% year on year, targeting 50 million units for the fiscal year ending March 2025. This growth is expected to be driven by both new titles and repeat sales, with the company projecting 13 million units from new releases and 37 million units from repeat titles.

The upcoming new releases include ported versions of “Monster Hunter Stories” and “Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin,” as well as the highly anticipated “Gin: Path of the Goddess” and several AAA titles. These new offerings represent a 35.5% increase in unit sales compared to the previous fiscal year.

Capcom also plans to sustain and expand sales of its repeat titles, focusing on its core brands such as “Resident Evil,” “Monster Hunter,” “Street Fighter,” and “Dragon’s Dogma.” These franchises have historically been strong performers, and the company intends to leverage their continued popularity to achieve its sales targets.

During a recent briefing, Capcom was asked about the inclusion of “Monster Hunter Wilds” in the sales projections. The company confirmed that the game is scheduled for release in 2025 but did not provide further details, stating, “We have announced that it is scheduled to be released in 2025, and will announce details at the appropriate time.”

Capcom’s strategy underscores its commitment to both innovation with new titles and the sustained success of its established franchises, aiming to meet the evolving demands of the global gaming market.
