AU Optronics (AUO) announced its latest solar innovation, the SunAlto Dual Glass Bifacial Photovoltaic Module, which has garnered both the Voluntary Product Certification (VPC) and the Taiwan Excellent PV Award from the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA). Developed in partnership with Sino-American Silicon (SAS), this module exemplifies AUO’s commitment to strengthening Taiwan’s green energy supply chain while catering to growing global demand for sustainable power solutions.
The SunAlto module, designed specifically for Taiwan’s island climate, integrates advanced M10 N-Type TOPCon monocrystalline cells with a power output of 490W. Engineered for high conversion efficiency, structural resilience, and durability against wind pressure and salt corrosion, it supports versatile installations across rooftops, water surfaces, and ground arrays. With shipments already underway, AUO anticipates the module will boost its business momentum through 2025.
Amid soaring power demands driven by AI and cloud computing, AUO’s bifacial module offers reliable performance and real-time efficiency monitoring, allowing users to optimize maintenance planning. SAS, in response to robust demand, has completed equipment and production line expansions for N-Type TOPCon cells, reaching a cell efficiency rate of 25.5%, the highest in Taiwan.
AUO’s expansion strategy involves not only technological innovation but also vertical integration of the green energy value chain, aiming to deliver a seamless procurement experience and enhance Taiwan’s energy autonomy.
