ASPEED Technology, a leading manufacturer of server management chips (BMC), reported a record-breaking consolidated revenue of NT$677 million (US$21.9 million) for August, marking a 12.63% month-on-month growth and a significant 178.15% rise year-on-year. The company attributed the surge to higher-than-anticipated demand for both general-purpose and AI servers.
ASPEEDa’s third-quarter revenue forecast stands between NT$1.75 billion and NT$1.85 billion (US$56.6 million to US$59.8 million), reflecting a 29% to 36% quarterly increase. Gross profit margins are expected to rise to 64-65.5%, driven by robust demand for server chips.
As AI server demand intensifies, ASPEED’s revenue from AI servers, currently 15%, is projected to rise substantially. Analysts highlight the importance of Nvidia’s new Blackwell platform, which requires a greater ratio of BMCs to GPUs, creating additional growth opportunities for ASPEED.
ASPEED continues to diversify its offerings by expanding its product lineup with bridge chips, security chips, and expansion chips, alongside its upcoming 12nm AST2700 BMC chip, set for mass production in 2024. The company also sees new potential in its Cupola360 imaging chip, which has been integrated into smart factory automation, positioning Xinhua for continued growth across multiple sectors.
