LG Electronics Inc. is expanding its gaming offerings by partnering with Microsoft Corp. to bring Xbox Game Pass to its smart TV platform, tapping into the growing cloud gaming market.

The South Korean electronics maker will integrate Microsoft’s gaming service into its webOS operating system, giving subscribers access to popular titles like “Avowed” and “Hogwarts Legacy” without requiring a gaming console.

The partnership comes as LG prepares to launch a dedicated Gaming Portal in the first quarter. The hub will feature a curated selection from its 4,000-game library, including cloud-based and casual games, along with personalized recommendations and tracking of recently played titles.

LG is enhancing its gaming interface with customizable settings for different genres. Users can adjust frame rates, graphics, and latency modes specifically for first-person shooters or real-time strategy games through the TV’s dashboard.

The move signals LG’s push to capture a larger share of the gaming market by transforming its smart TVs into gaming platforms. The company is betting on cloud gaming’s growth as more consumers seek console-free gaming experiences.

The new gaming features will be available to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers through LG’s smart TV platform.
