Korea Electric Power Corp. (KEPCO), South Korea’s state-run utility, announced a cooperation agreement with U.S.-based engineering firm Burns & McDonnell to jointly promote the 765 kV transmission network construction project in the United States. The project, which had been scaled down since the 1970s, is now resuming, and the partnership will combine Burns & McDonnell’s extensive construction experience with KEPCO’s advanced technical capabilities.
The companies plan to form a task force to collaborate on proposals and contract negotiations for future 765 kV transmission projects, aiming to strengthen their presence in the U.S. energy infrastructure market. This marks a significant step for KEPCO in expanding its global reach in high-voltage power transmission.
