China Airlines Group reported record-breaking revenue for September and the third quarter, riding a wave of strong travel demand. The Taiwanese carrier’s consolidated revenue hit NT$16.01 billion ($502 million) in September, up 7.4% year-on-year despite a 9.79% month-on-month decrease.
Passenger revenue climbed 2.41% annually to NT$9.45 billion ($296 million), with European routes like Vienna and Rome showing significant growth. The airline’s exclusive Prague route boasted an impressive 85% load factor.
To capitalize on stable demand, China Airlines is expanding its network. Flights between Taoyuan and Auckland will increase to 10 weekly from December 2 to February 16, while the Taoyuan-Sapporo route will see 14 weekly flights from mid-December to late January.
The carrier’s cargo division also performed well, with September revenue rising 13.42% year-on-year to NT$5.27 billion ($165 million). As the peak shipping season approaches, China Airlines anticipates increased demand from cross-border e-commerce and new electronics releases.
Looking ahead, the airline expects strong bookings for Europe and Northeast Asia in the fourth quarter, bolstered by promotional offers including discounts of up to 23% on all routes.
