ASUS has unveiled a unique AI-powered laptop in collaboration with fashion brand Anna Sui, showcasing a blend of technology and style aimed at diversifying its consumer base. The Adol 14 Air fragrance version notebook, launched exclusively in the Chinese market, features a 14-inch OLED display and is distinctively scented, combining cutting-edge tech specs with a sensory experience.
The laptop’s innovative design includes a “fragrance tablet box” on the cover, created with CNC technology to allow the fragrance to diffuse through small holes. This feature allows users to replace the fragrance tablets, provided by leading fragrance company Firmenich, and customize their experience. The lavender-colored laptop is adorned with Anna Sui’s iconic butterfly logo, adding to its fashion appeal.
Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945H processor, 32GB of LPDDR5X memory, and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD, the laptop boasts impressive performance capabilities, with a computing power of 39 TOPS. It includes Windows 11 Home Edition and the “Doudin AI Assistant,” similar to Microsoft’s Copilot, offering features like chat, Q&A, and content drafting. The device promises a 14-hour battery life, providing ample productivity for users.
Priced at RMB 6,999 (approximately NT$32,000 or US$970), the laptop is available for pre-order on the ASUS Mall in China, with shipping slated to begin on August 9. The package includes a cloud laptop bag, wireless mouse, customized stickers, and Anna Sui eau de toilette, enhancing its appeal to fashion-conscious buyers.
ASUS’s strategy of cross-industry collaborations is part of its effort to increase brand visibility and attract diverse consumer groups. This collaboration with Anna Sui follows previous successful partnerships, such as with DJ Alan Walker and IKEA for gaming products. As AI applications become more sophisticated, the market for AI-powered notebooks is expected to grow significantly, with TrendForce predicting a global AI notebook penetration rate of 20.4% by 2025.
